As guidance under the Reading School’s Health and Wellness Policy, the below list of suggested healthy, peanut free and nut free snacks are permitted to be provided for classroom celebrations:
Ø Vegetables
Ø Fruits (fresh, frozen, dried, cups)
Ø Plain Raisins / Craisins
Ø Yogurt
Ø Cheese / String Cheese
Ø Teddy Grahams
Ø Plain Lite Popcorn
Ø Crackers (Graham, Animal, Saltines, Ritz, Wheat Thins, Triscuits, etc.)
Ø Goldfish Crackers
Ø Some Pretzels (check packaging - some “may contain nuts”)
Ø Pita and Bagel Chips (check packaging - some “may contain nuts”)
Ø Rice Cakes (non-chocolate flavor)
Ø Bagels (non-nut flavor, check packaging - some “may contain nuts”)
Ø Muffins (non-nut and non-chocolate flavor, check packaging)
Ø Frozen Juice Bars
Ø 100% Juice
Ø Water
Ø Milk
Please Note: Before buying any product, including those listed above, Read the Package Labels Carefully to be sure they do not contain any traces of nuts and were not produced in a plant or on equipment used to produce peanut products. Companies may change their manufacturing practices without notice and can add nut ingredients in to their products.
